Lutheran High School's supporters celebrated the school's ministry and God’s blessings in that ministry at the Service of Dedication for the Dan Reuss Memorial Gymnasium on June 5 at 2:00 p.m.
The service was led by Rev. Brendan Prigge, a 1983 graduate of Lutheran
High School who serves as pastor of Victory Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie.
The preacher
for the service was Rev. John Vaughn, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in
Prior Lake (a Concordia Academy-Bloomington association congregation). Rev.
Vaughn is a former board chairman, and parent of Sara, a 1998 LHS graduate.
Music for the celebration was provided by an alumni band and choir, both
led by Dr. Paul Schilf, Assistant Professor of Music Education and Bands
at Augustana
College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and former Lutheran High School band
and choir director. Brian DeYoung, a sophomore at Dordt College in Sioux
Center, Iowa who attended LHS 2000-2003 was the accompanist for the service.
Following the service, those in attendance (including current and former
students, parents, current and former staff members, members of association
congregations,
and other LHS supporters totaling more than 200) enjoyed food and fellowship
during a reception.
While the afternoon celebration marked the end of the long journey towards
a gym, it also reminded attendees of the exciting new journey...a partnership
between
LHS and Concordia Academy-Roseville.
