FALL PARENT/TEACHER
CONFERENCES ARE TODAY AND TOMORROW
Don't forget that parent/teacher conferences are today (Thursday, November 3,
5:00
-
8:00 p.m.) and tomorrow (Friday, November 4, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.). Conferences
give
you 12 minutes with each teacher. If you have not scheduled conference times
and wish to meet with teachers, please call
Marilee
Schneider ASAP
(ext.
109)
to
schedule
times. Due to conferences, there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, November 4.
CHAPERONES
NEEDED FOR NOVEMBER 4 LATE NITE BASH
We still need one or two additional chaperones for tomorrow's junior high
Late Nite Bash at CA-Bloomington.
If
you'd
like to help with this fun event, please contact Marilee Schneider.
NOVEMBER 11 IS A HALF DAY
Mark your calendars! To accommodate an elementary school matinee of Little
Women, school will be dismissed at noon on Friday, November 11.
LITTLE
WOMEN RUNS NEXT WEEKEND!
Louisa M. Alcott's beloved novel Little Women
comes to life on the Concordia Academy-Bloomington stage NEXT WEEKEND (November
11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and November 13
at 2:30 p.m.). The structure of the play faithfully covers that of the novel,
interweaving the lives of the March girls (Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy) and Laurie,
the boy next door, as they grow up together during the Civil War era. Admission
is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students and senior citizens. Advance reservations
can be made online at www.lutheranhighschool.com/lhsevents/littlewomen.cfm . Reservations can also be made by calling 952-854-0224, ext. 109.

WINTER SPORTS MEETING SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 10
Parents of winter athletes should plan to attend a winter sports meeting next
Thursday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m.
SENIOR PARENTS MEET ON NOVEMBER 14
Senior parents: do you know what is happening in 173 days? The senior class
party, and...oh yea...our sons and daughters graduate from high school. Although
173 days may seem like a long time, planning this event will take
a
lot
of time
and effort on everyone's part, and it will be here before we know it. Please
plan on attending a meeting on November 14th at 7:00 p.m. to begin planning
of this event. We would like a volunteer to coordinate this event, and
many
others
to help out where needed. Thank you. -John Venzke
FALL SPORTS BANQUET IS NOVEMBER 20
All parents and athletes in a fall sport should watch their mailboxes for the
invitation to the Fall Sports Banquet. After receiving the invitation,
please RSVP at your earliest convenience so the Booster Club can plan
the amount of food needed.
This
year the banquet
will
be held at CA-Bloomington. The date for the event will be November
20, 2005 at 5:00 p.m., and the cost will be $7.00 per person.
THREE
DAYS OF CANDY MAKING LEFT
There are three days left of candy making to fill the empty boxes with Turtles,
Peppermint Crunch, Peanut Clusters, and Layered Mints. We are making candy
this Saturday morning, November 5, at 9:00 a.m. or next Monday and Tuesday,
November 6 and 7, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The
work is easy and the help would be appreciated. If you can volunteer, please
call Debbie Heggemeier at 952-844-0128 or e-mail her at degheg@att.net
or call Terri Riehm at 952-835-4450.
THANKS FOR HELP LAST WEEKEND
Thanks to all parents and students who helped with last weekend's clean-up
day and open house. The open house was a success, and the building looked
great thanks to the hard work of Saturday's volunteers. Thank you!
CHAPEL OFFERINGS
GO TO UGANDA
Second quarter chapel offerings will be designated for the Watoto Child Care
Ministries in Kampala, Uganda. Currently there are 880,000 Ugandan children
living as orphans as a result of AIDS; Watoto Child Care Ministries care
for about 1200 children, with a goal to care for 20,000 children in the future.
Offerings are collected each Tuesday and Thursday after chapel. More information
on Watoto Child Care Ministries can be found at www.watoto.com.
BARNES & NOBLE FUNDRAISER IS DECEMBER 19

when you check out. This is a great chance to take care of Christmas shopping
and support CA-Bloomington at the same time.

MOMS IN TOUCH MOMENT
This past Wednesday we prayed for Concordia Academy-Bloomington. We prayed
that our children would be a friend and comfort to the lonely, the discouraged,
and the lost. We also prayed that they would look not only to their own interest
but also to the interest of others (Philippians 2:4). If you have a moment,
please pray the same for your child. Any mom is welcome to join us to pray
at 9:00 a.m. in the Conference Room on Wednesday mornings.
