GRONNEBERG
NAMED CA DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Leanne Gronneberg has joined Concordia Academy as Director of
Development. In her new position, Gronneberg will consolidate development
initiatives at Concordia Academy-Roseville and Concordia Academy-Bloomington.
Previously,
Leanne has worked in the Development Office of Concordia College
in Moorhead, Minnesota as Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations. Lynn
Henry explained, “Leanne
is an alumna of CA-Roseville who understands the storied history
of our schools. She will work to create an office that will strengthen our
mission as we plan
for the future of Christian education in the Twin Cities." Gronneberg
added, “I am grateful for this opportunity to serve. This work
honors the vision of those before us and will help build the future
of this vital
educational ministry."
CONCORDIA GETS
CONNECTED
On Sunday, September 18, CA-Roseville and CA-Bloomington hosted two
events to celebrate the joint ministry of the schools. The Concordia
Connection,
a 20-mile run, symbolically marked the new relationship. Thirty-two
participants ran one or more legs of the distance between Roseville
and Bloomington.
After the run, Rev. Brendan Prigge (LHS '83) and CA-Roseville Principal
Rev. Tim
Berner (CA '85) led 200 students, alumni, and supporters in a worship
service celebrating the ministry of both schools. Thanks to all
who participated and
made the day an uplifting celebration of the work God had done
in our schools.
TEST
DAY IS OCTOBER 12
Wednesday, October 12, will be our annual test day. This year's
test day is during homecoming week; while we do determine what
tests we
administer, we
do not determine the dates. The PSAT (Pre-SAT) is taken by juniors,
the PLAN (or Pre-ACT) is taken by sophomores, and freshmen take
the EXPLORE
(or Pre-PLAN).
EXPLORE also includes an interest inventory, which the counseling
office uses in the course of student career exploration activities.
All students
should
arrive a bit early and bring #2 pencils with them. Calculators
are allowed on all tests. Students will be getting additional
information in the
coming
weeks about the tests. Costs for the tests are covered in registration
fees you've already paid. The tests begin PROMPTLY at 8:30 a.m.
There
is no first
hour or late start, and all students should plan to leave the
building immediately after testing. Please make arrangements
for prompt pick-up. If you have questions, contact Mrs. Kelzer at ext. 302.

MOMS IN
TOUCH MOMENT
This past Wednesday, Moms in Touch spent time in prayer
for our students, staff, and school. We prayed that our
students
would
know "how wide and long
and high and deep the love of Christ is, and know this love that surpasses
knowledge" (Ephesians 3:18,19). If you have a moment, you might pray the
same for your child. Any mom available is welcome to join us on Wednesday mornings
to pray at 9:00 a.m. in the conference room. –Debbie Heggemeier and Moms
