Concordia Academy-Bloomington Update for September 16, 2005
Vol. 6, No. 4

JOINT WORSHIP, CONCORDIA CONNECTION IS THIS WEEKEND
On Sunday, September 18, 2005, Concordia Academy will host two events to mark the integration of Concordia Academy-Roseville and Concordia Academy-Bloomington. The Concordia Connection is the symbolic run marking the integration of the two schools. At 11:00 a.m. on September 18, the run will begin at the Roseville school and it will finish at the Bloomington school. Participants can choose to run a three or four mile leg of the distance, or may choose to complete the entire route, which is under 20 miles. There will also be a one-mile run at the end of the event. If you would like to participate, please email Shelley Novotny, Concordia Academy Director of Communications, or phone her at 651-484-8429, ext. 108. There is no cost to participate and all runners will receive a Concordia Connection T-shirt. At 3:00 p.m., a service celebrating the integration will be held in the Dan Reuss Memorial Gym at Concordia Academy-Bloomington. Rev. Brendan Prigge (LHS '83) will preach and Rev. Tim Berner (CA '85) will assist. Student musicians from both schools will perform. All members of the Concordia Academy community are invited to attend as we celebrate God's faithfulness to Lutheran education in the Twin Cities.

MID-TERMS ARE NEXT WEEK
Progress reports for all classes will be sent home with students next Tuesday, September 20. Please ask your CA student for them! On Thursday, they will discuss their mid-quarter grades with their advisors during advisory meetings. Copies of grades will then be mailed home at the end of the week. Be sure to watch for the grades and take time to discuss them with your student.

SEE YOU AT THE POLE
Next Wednesday, students are encouraged to gather at the flagpole in front of the school and join together in prayer as part of the national "See You At The Pole" event. The time of prayer will start at 7:45 a.m.

RELIEF FROM HURRICANE KATRINA
This quarter's chapel offerings will go to the American Red Cross, and CA-Bloomington students have been challenged to step forward in contributing in a major way towards relief for all those so severely affected by Hurricane Katrina. The conditions at the Lutheran high school in New Orleans are unknown at this time, but we do know that the adjacent church and the gymnasium have been flooded by up to five feet of water. If parents or friends also want to contribute to this effort, checks may be made out to Concordia Academy-Bloomington (with Hurricane Katrina and either "Red Cross" or "New Orleans LHS" in the memo line), and the final amount will be sent on. Please continue to keep everyone in this area in your prayers.

ATHLETIC PASSES AVAILABLE
Athletic Passes for the 2005-2006 school year are now available and can be purchased at the gate during any home athletic event. Passes are valid for all regular-season athletic events (does not include MCAA and MSHSL tournaments). Three types of passes are available: Individual Pass (one person) for $80, Family Pass (parents and all children grades 1-12) for $150, 10-Event Punch Pass (one person) for $45.
