PROGRAM EXPANSION AT CA-BLOOMINGTON
Concordia Academy-Bloomington has begun preliminary investigations towards adding a junior high or middle school program to the school's program, possibly for the fall of 2007. The school is now collecting information in a survey on each family's areas of interest in choosing a school for their junior-high aged children and their interest in a specific junior high program connected to the high school. Two information meetings for parents and other interested people will be held Monday, May 22, at 7 p.m., and Thursday, June 15, at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be held at Concordia Academy-Bloomington. Please keep this process in your prayers as we seek the Lord's will in building this area of ministry.

VERNA HINCK HONORED WITH MUSICAL CELEBRATION ON JULY 2
One of the longest serving organists in the Lutheran Church will retire this July.  The family of Verna Stelzer Hinck and Trinity First Lutheran Congregation will hosta Musical Celebration on July 2, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. at Trinity First Lutheran Church, at the corner of 19th St. and 11th Ave. in south Minneapolis, in honor of Verna’s retirement as full-time organist at Trinity First Lutheran. The celebration will be a hymn festival played by Dr. David Cherwien, Cantor at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.  Dr. Cherwien will also play an organ composition to be dedicated to Verna.  Verna graduated from Concordia Seward in 1938, was called to Trinity Lutheran in Racine, WI where she taught and played organ for the next 5 years.  In 1943, she was called to Trinity First Lutheran as teacher, organist and music director.  In 1947, she married Walter F. Hinck.  In 1948, she became the church organist at Peace Lutheran in Robbinsdale, MN.  In 1956, once again, Trinity First called her to be their organist. Verna has continuously served the church in the organist position for the last 50 years.  She has been a patron of Lutheran High School/Concordia Academy-Bloomington since its inception. She is the mother of six alumni and grandmother of three alumni and has also helped bake and sell thousands of fruitcakes for PFA. Please join Verna and her family for this musical celebration!

MOMS IN TOUCH MOMENT
This week the Moms in Touch group meditated on gentleness:the gentleness of God, as well as how we are to be gentle. "Therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." (Colossians 3:12) For our children, we prayed that they would exhibit the fruits of the Spirit in their lives. We also prayed for them: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6) If you have a moment you might pray the same for your child. Debbie Heggemeier and Moms in Touch International
