NO REGULAR
CLASSES TODAY
Regular classes do not meet today (Friday, May 11), as CA-Bloomington holds its
annual elementary All Sports Day. However, many CA-Bloomington
students
and
staff
will
be
present throughout the day
helping
run
the
various
activities. Over 300 students and teachers from five area elementary schools
we
be a part of this event.
PROM IS
TOMORROW
Prom takes place on Saturday,
May 12. The public is invited to Grand March at 6:00 p.m. (note the time
change). Dinner and the dance follow,
with
the dance ending at 11:00 p.m. Grand March, dinner, and the dance all take
place at the James J. Hill House on Summit Ave. in St. Paul (across the street
from the cathedral).
GLENN
ROLLINS ACCEPTS CALL TO BE CA-BLOOMINGTON PRINCIPAL
Mr. Glenn Rollins has accepted the Call to be principal of Concordia
Academy-Bloomington. Mr. Rollins is currently principal of Faith Lutheran High
School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he has served since 2000. Prior to that, he
was principal and executive director at Luther High School East in Lansing, IL
(near Chicago) and also served here at Lutheran High School from 1989-1995 as
social studies teacher and dean of students. Glenn and his wife Sue have three
sons: Tim (22), Jared (19), and Caleb (14). Caleb will be a freshman here next
fall. Tim is graduating from Carroll College
in Wisconsin with a degree in marketing and will be living in Milwaukee. Next
fall Jared will be a sophomore at Concordia-Irvine. Glenn and his family hope
to be moved by mid-July and look forward to returning to the Midwest Continue
to keep the Rollins family in your prayers as they prepare
for many transitions in this move. Glenn has many skills that will be a great
blessing to CA-Bloomington. We can all thank God for guiding us to the next leader
for the school.
AWARDS
CONVOCATION IS MAY 20
Plan now to attend the Awards Convocation on Sunday, May 20, at 2:00 p.m. This
event celebrates
academic and extra-curricular achievements of our student body. Families
with students receiving awards should have received letters letting them know
that the student will be recognized at the convocation.

SUMMER CAMPS PARTNER WITH MN TWINS
Lancer Summer Camps at Concordia Academy-Bloomington offer opportunities for
students who love sports to develop their God-given talents, enjoy fellowship
with old and new friends, and grow as athletes. Cost for each camp is $75. The
following camps will be offered (grade levels listed refer to the grade the student
is entering in fall of 2007):

addition to Lancer Summer Camps, The Minnesota Twins will be holding their Twin
Cities Youth Baseball & Softball
Training Camp at CA-Bloomington June 25-27, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Students
from CA-Bloomington and its association schools receive a $50 discount
off of the $200 registration fee! To receive this special discount, you must
fill out a separate Twins Camp registration form and make a note that the student
attends a Concordia Academy school. This special discount is not valid with

FINALS
BEGIN MAY 22
Please take note of the final exam schedule. Remember, students with a study
hall during the first or last exam of the day do NOT have to be present in the
building during those times. If they are present, they will be in a study hall.
Please note the early end times all three days. Students should arrange to leave
the building as soon as possible after the last final of each
day.

STUDENT SALUTES CAN STILL BE TURNED IN
Student salute ads can still be turned in. These ads give family members
and friends a chance to
include a special photo and surprise message for their special student(s)
in the
2007 yearbook. These ads cost $40 and
will be accepted until May 25. Pick up a form or download

GOLF TOURNAMENT
IS JUNE 9
The 14th Annual CA-Bloomington Lyle M. Hansemann Golf Tournament
is set for June 9 at Southern Hills Golf Course in Farmington. Registration brochures
were mailed with mid-quarter grades and can also be downloaded
here. Get some
friends
together
and
register
for
this fun day! Proceeds
from
this
tournament
support
the Hansemann Scholarship Fund at CA-Bloomington.
NEWS FROM
PHYL
-Please check your cupboards, countertops and any other homey places for Campbells,
Swansons, Prego, Peppridge Farm and Goldfish Cracker UPC codes and lids from
Prego and V8 Splash beverages. PLEASE make sure that you send in the UPC codes
and lids from our Bonus Products. I need to mail all these goodies in by May
25. Thanks for your help.
-Would you like to hear some fantastic news for next school year? Now that we
have 7th and 8th grades we will be able to participate in the Boxtops for Education
program and earn 10 cents for each boxtop instead of five cents. We will double
our profits!!! We are talking about hundreds of dollars difference.
-Over the summer, please continue to save and maybe even bring in to the office
or library cell phones, inkjet and laser cartridges, milk and orange juice bottle
caps, Milk Moola panels, Tyson panels that have the Project A+ logo. All funds
received
from these programs goes to our PFA (Parent- Friends Association). -Phyl Mueller
