Concordia
Academy-Bloomington Update for March 9, 2007
Vol. 7, No. 27
INTERIM
WEEK IS HERE!
Third quarter ends today (Friday, March 9). Interim Week is March 12-16, and
in addition to groups meeting on-campus throughout the week, students and teachers
will be traveling to Texas and Missouri. On-site classes begin at 9:00 a.m.,
and end times vary by class. Please keep all of our special classes and tours
in your prayers this coming week.
We pray
for
good
health,
safe travel,
excitement in new experiences, and fellowship of students and staff. Parents,
thank you for your support of this program! Remember, there is no school
on March 19 for a Teacher Record Day. Fourth quarter begins
March
20. Third quarter grades will be mailed home late that week. Remember, tuition
must be current and all fines and fees must be paid before quarter grades are
sent home.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR APRIL FUNDRAISER EVENTS
-Fabulous Fifties,
our 11th annual Spring Fling with Silent and Live Auctions, is scheduled for
Saturday, April 14 at the Ramada Inn - MOA! Monies raised at the Spring
Fling support CA-Bloomington academic programs, including financial aid
for our students. Our goal is $50,000. A portion of funds raised will
be supplemented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. We are asking for
every family’s
involvement. Whether you make a donation, volunteer, or do all three,
we need your help to make this event a great success. We need large and
small ticket items. Click
here to download a Parent Acquisition Form. If you did not sign up
to volunteer this fall and want to assist, contact Shelley Novotny, Director
of Communications, at shelley.novotny@concordiaacademy.com.
Items may be donated during the month of March by dropping them off at
the main office with Marilee Schneider. Visit the web page for this event
by visiting www.concordiaacademy.com and
clicking on CA-Bloomington. Then click on the Fabulous Fifties logo. This site
will have regular updates about the Spring Fling.

Salad Luncheon, Quilt Auction, and Style Show intakes place on Saturday,
April 28 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Tickets will be sold March 11 – April
22 at all of our Association Churches and at the main office. This
year’s
event includes a punch reception and smaller silent auction of handmade
creations; a catered luncheon of salad, pasta dishes, and dessert;
a style show featuring Cabi fashions; and the ever-popular quilt auction

PFA plans to use monies raised at this event to re-carpet some classrooms
and to supply new furnishings for the entrance way of the school. A
portion of funds raised will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial
for Lutherans. Volunteers
are needed to sell tickets, organize fashion show models, help with set-up

eligible students. Just call the school office to schedule a time
to donate. Thank you!
MUSICIANS

their music. However, the group could make good use of some additional equipment,
including a drum set, bass guitar, microphone stands and mics. Also, a bass player
and
a drummer are needed for the pit for the spring musical, "High School Musical." If
you can be of assistance with any of the above items, please contact Robin Martens
at ext. 103 or robin.martens@concordiaacademy.com .

CROSS VIEW PRESENTS
FAITHSEARCH ORIGINS
FaithSearch Origins
takes current scientific evidence to unravel creation, evolution and the
meaning of life.
It strips off the hype and takes a scientific approach to the evidence. This
informative two-part seminar, presented by Dr. Don Bierle of FaithSearch International,
takes place at Cross View Lutheran Church on Tuesday, March 20,
and Tuesday, March 27, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Dr. Bierle holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees
in the life sciences and an M.A. degree in New Testament studies. The author
of several books, he is skilled at communicating subjects in clear, original
and fascinating ways. With all the fuss over what should and shouldn't be taught
in schools, and with politicians weighing in on all levels, Dr. Bierle's
emphasis on the powerful concept of intelligent design will unite rather
than divide people on this controversial subject. Stimulating and challenging,
FaithSearch Origins is ideal for students, teachers, pastors and parents.ross
View is located at 6645 McCauley Trail in Edina. Please RSVP to Melanie@crossview.net or by calling the church office 952-941-1094. There
is no admission charge but a free-will donation will be taken. For more information,
visit www.crossview.net and www.faithsearch.org.
