THINK
AUGUST!
Even in sub-zero temperatures, we look ahead to warmer days
in August and the start of the new school year! Thanks to all of the families
that have already returned their re-enrollment forms for 2006-07. Re-enrollment
continues with the $100 registration fee until March 1; after March 1, the
fee is $125.00. By this time all returning students should have also returned
their schedule requests and four-year plans to Mrs. Kelzer. Thanks for helping
us plan ahead by returning these items to the school as soon as possible.
SPRING
FLING IS MARCH 18
The 10th Annual CA-Bloomington Spring Fling will offer something for everyone:
silent and live auctions, great food, prizes, musical entertainment, fellowship,
and a chance to celebrate and support the ministry of CA-Bloomington. The event
takes place
on March 18 at the Park Plaza Hotel (formerly the Wyndham) in Bloomington.
The silent auction begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00. Dorothy
Benham
will provide
musical entertainment, followed by the live auction. If you haven't received
your invitation yet, expect it in the next day or two. For additional details,
including a partial list of items up for auction, visit
www.lutheranhighschool.com/lhsevents/springfling.cfm.
NEW ORLEANS INTERIM MEETS, NEEDS CAR TOPPER
The New Orleans Interim will have a meeting on Wednesday, February 22, at 7:00
p.m. at the school for parents and students. Also, the group going to New Orleans
is in need of a car topper and
large cooler for their trip. If you have one to loan, call the school office.
MINNESOTA SOUTH DISTRICT AID AVAILABLE
The Minnesota South District of the Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod is pleased to offer financial assistance to LCMS Lutheran
high school students who intend to enter church work after college. More
information on the District Student Aid is available from Marilee Schneider
in the main office. Applications
for
this aid must be returned to the school by June 1, 2006.
DON'T
MISS YOUR CHANCE TO BE A SPRING FLING DONOR OR VOLUNTEER
Have you thought about making a donation for the Spring Fling Auction?
We're looking for live and silent auction items as well as cash
donations! Donations can come from many places (local businesses, church
groups, family, friends) and can come in all sizes and price ranges.
The donation could be a large item such as a plasma TV, a smaller item
like
a gift certificate, or a theme basket. A donation form was included with
the mid-quarter mailing and can also be downloaded at www.lutheranhighschool.com/downloads/SpringFlingDonation06.pdf.
We also still need volunteers to help with a variety of tasks:
-soliciting donations
-calling to invite other CA-Bloomington patrons and parents
-decorating the room the day of the auction
-categorizing the items and set-up
-check-out after the auction
-clean up
If you'd like to help, please fill out the volunteer form online at http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB224XNWBWN4E .
Or, for any auction-related questions, contact Chair Emily Aust ('00) at

NEWS FROM PHYL
We have received an electric stapler and a baseball tee from the Campbell's
Labels for Education Program. Our next goal is to earn points for a Spanish
Reading Rod set. The electronic keyboard that we earned will be taken on choir
tour. Thanks for helping collect our labels. Please turn in any Box Tops for
Education that you may have at home. I will be turning them in on February
24. Anything turned in after February 24 will be credited for the next school
year. -Phyl Mueller
MOMS IN TOUCH MOMENT
This week our group of moms prayed about God being our Victor. We prayed that
our children know that "There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that
can succeed against the Lord. Victory rests with the Lord" (Proverbs
21:30-31). We also prayed that our children will be wise in the use of
their God-given gifts, talents, and abilities. If you have a moment you
might pray the same for your child. -Debbie Heggemeier and Moms in Touch
