Academy-Bloomington Update for January 20, 2006
Vol. 6, No. 21
OPEN HOUSE
AND CLEAN-UP DAY ARE THIS WEEKEND
To prepare the building for our winter open house, an all-school clean-up day
will be held on Saturday, January 21, starting at 9:00 a.m. With many hands,
the work goes quickly. Please consider assisting in making sure the building
looks great for our visitors at the January 22 open house. If you plan to come
and help, please call the office and let Marilee Schneider know. In addition,
please spread the word about the open house. You are our most effective form
of publicity. An open house postcard was sent to you with semester
grades. Please pass it on to another family and encourage them to attend.

VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN NAMED
Concordia Academy has five young women at the top of the class of 2006 with
GPAs of 4.0 or better. Only two can be named valedictorian and salutatorian,
although we wish all could be commended with these honors. Jessica "Kaitlyn" Kamp
has been named valedictorian with a 4.149 GPA. She is the daughter of Jim and
Linda Kamp of Bloomington. Kaitlyn is very active as a three-season-sport athlete,
has been in choir and many drama productions, is currently Co-President of
Student Council, and is a National Honor Society member. She also
represents CA-Bloomington as our nominee for the Athletic, Arts, and Academic
Award (Triple A). She hopes to study medicine and become a doctor. The salutatorian
is Miriam Devere, daughter of Dennis and Libby Devere, also
of Bloomington. Miriam has a 4.047 GPA, has been on the basketball team since
arriving at CA-Bloomington, and is the Treasurer for the Student Council. Miriam
will attend Mayville State University in
North Dakota, majoring in mathematics. Kaitlyn and Miriam will be part
of our graduation ceremony in May, addressing the students
and guests. We congratulate both of these
fine young women for their accomplishments! -Grace Kelzer, Registrar

MOMS IN TOUCH MOMENT
This past Tuesday we prayed about God being merciful. We also prayed that
