Thursday, August 23, was an exciting day as 17 7th and 8th graders joined the student body of Concordia Academy-Bloomington! We're thrilled to have these students become an integral part of the CA-Bloomington community as students, athletes, musicians, actors, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

From first day nerves to a thriving peer group…
If you have a pre-teen or young teen living in your house, you know what
a truly interesting person he or she is becoming. Their brains
are working overtime
to keep up with all of the growth that is happening during these years – internally
and externally – and sometimes it can be quite a rollercoaster ride.
Over my years of teaching, I’ve discovered that most teens are looking
for two main things – independence and connection. While those may seem
like polar opposites, in a young person’s life they are not.
Our Junior High program works to bring out the best for each student in both of these aspects. We encourage independent thinking and learning with the way our classes are structured. We have expectations for each student to become more independent personally and in their studies. We encourage each one to find his or her own voice, and to practice using it assertively and respectfully. Just as important, we help them find strong connections with peers, to academics, and in their personal faith walk with God.
As our students move through the school day, they engage in a variety of learning styles and work with different instructors in the school, while still having a linked together homeroom experience. With the unique composition of our 7-12 grade student body, the junior high students are also able to learn from the high school students during times of worship, fellowship, athletic competition, and sometimes even in the classroom. We are excited to offer so many educational and co-curricular opportunities to our junior high students all within our guided program.
In our inaugural year, we have been blessed to see growth in each young lady and gentleman who has joined our Junior High. We look forward to partnering with your family on working toward those same goals with your son or daughter.
